Theatre Wakefield Presents Aimee Yonce and Drag Queen Story Hour!

On Saturday, September 18th, Fierté La Pêche Pride will hold a pride popup at the Wakefield Farmers Market (65 Chemin Burnside, Wakefield, QC). In collaboration, we're proud to present the wonderful Aimee Yonce as the Mistress of Ceremonies of the day's events. Later in October, we'll be presenting Aimee in DRAG QUEEN STORY HOUR! Aimee and a group of Drag Queens and Kings will be reading at two subsequent events at the Wakefield Library and Wakefield Elementary School, both presented by TW. Drag Queen Story Hour (DQSH) is just what it sounds like—drag queens reading stories to children in libraries, schools, and bookstores (and markets, too). DQSH captures the imagination and play of the gender fluidity of childhood and gives kids glamorous, positive, and unabashedly queer role models. In spaces like this, kids are able to see people who defy rigid gender restrictions and imagine a world where people can present as they wish, where dress-up is real.

Dates TBA, stay tuned!!
