About the Play:
This is a piece of verbatim theatre, a form of documentary theatre that, in this case, describes homelessness from multiple viewpoints. The playwright has used real people’s words exclusively, and takes this testimony from recorded interviews. Home is a Beautiful Word is a one-hour play that will be read by five actors who all play multiple roles, including a narrator.
The play requires:
· Three men of any age
· Two women of any age
This play reading is open to amateur actors. A small honorarium will be offered.
Theatre Wakefield promotes an environment of equity, inclusion and diversity. Artists from under-represented communities (visible minorities, Indigenous peoples and persons with disabilities) are encouraged to apply.
ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST PROVIDE PROOF THAT THEY HAVE BEEN DOUBLE VACCINATED.
