New Works News!

TW’s New Works Program “From the Page to the Stage” began ten years ago. It has always been an important priority of ours to encourage new and local playwrights and provide workshops. Several of these shows have graced spaces as our annual mainstage productions including:

Ian Tamblyn’s “Dreamwalker”

Nadia Ross’s “Epiphany”

John Hardy’s “What’s Eating You?” and “True To Life”

Ron Stoltz’s “Maîtres Chez Nous”

Recent Readings we have performed:

“A Matter of Life and Death” - Guy Buller

“The Trouble With Ninjas” - Caitlin Oleson

“Jack King, Ace Detective” - Keith Davidson

“How Libby Got Married” - Vickie Williams

Due to the generosity of our funders, the MRC des Collines de l’Outaouais and the Municipality de La Pêche, in each year for the past four, we have taken up to 12 scripts for FREE coaching by our resident dramaturge, Peter James Haworth. From these we have provided readings at our TaDa! Festival, touring readings in the region and one annual professional workshop.

The quality of plays coming out of this program is very high and some are ready for the professional stage. Feed back from playwrights has been very positive. And for audiences, too, play readings are so much fun!

This Fall, we are attempting to create a multi-media videograph of a Radio Play adaptation of John Cook’s “Husband? What Husband?”. Working under COVID-19 regulations to create a safe experience for the cast and crew, this will provide us with online material both visual and aural for distribution to our audiences.

If you are interested in this program, please get in touch with David Park at . If you are a budding playwright with a script treatment, watch for the invitation to our 2021 Program beginning in March or April next. If you are seeking paid private dramaturgy, contact Peter James Haworth at .
