A collaborative arts initiative by Théâtre Wakefield
What is it?
We're looking for emerging and aspiring artists of any discipline aged 15-30 to create a brand new show in 2022. If you have a talent you want to pursue or a story to tell, we want to hear from you! No experience or training necessary!
If you want to:
· Have fun getting to know and collaborate with other emerging and aspiring artists;
· Receive personalized, professional arts training from a series of guest artists we plan to bring in for you;
· Experience new art forms and creative methods;
· Create your very own show and tell your story to the world!
Then we invite you to join Ensemble!
The Fine Print…
Ten participants will be selected though a collective audition process on June 18: some of the things we’ll be looking for at the audition are your passion, commit- ment, and ability to support and work well with others. Theatre Wakefield is committed to creating a safe space where you can take big and small risks, feel you’re an important part of the “team,” and have a lot of fun!
The program will run two hours one evening a week this fall from Sept to Dec. The show in December will be driven by the collective and will be representative of the group’s interests and creativity -- a true representation of our talented community.
Leading the group is Mary Ellen MacLean, a professional theatre artist with a great sense of humour (see her on our poster), tons of experience working with youth, a professional theatre background, and a kind heart. See her perform at this year’s TaDa! Festival on May 27 at the Centre Wakefield LaPêche! Read about her show here: www.tadafestival.net/frankie.
This project is supported by the Government of Canada, the MRC des Collines de l’Outaouais and the Municipality of LaPêche. With their generous funding, we can offer it FREE for all participants.
