Student Project Coordinator needed


Theatre Wakefield is looking for a student project coordinator to help run the 100 Mile Arts Network. This is an exciting opportunity to support the continued success of a cross-regional network of artists and performers and gain valuable experience in arts administration, marketing, and more!

The ideal candidate:

Interested/active in the arts

Organized Self-motivated

Experience with social media

Basic experience in Wordpress

Comfortable with digital technology

Among other duties, the project coordinator will:

Work with the project manager of the 100 Mile Arts Network to organize and manage new and existing network members.

Assist in managing the 100 Mile Arts Network social media and website

Assist in publicising, organizing, and documenting Network showcases and activities

Provide administrative support to the network

Candidates must be 30 years or younger.

Length of employment: 6 weeks staring from July 6 2020

Hourly pay rate: $13.10

About the project manager: Julien Dionne - For those who don't know him, he is a nationally touring comedian, having performed in every major comedy club and festival across Canada, has been nominated for a Canadian Comedy Award, has been featured on TV & radio and spent the first half of his career in New York City and Toronto, cutting his teeth alongside some of the best comedians in the world. Naturally, the next rung on the showbiz ladder, where all the comedy greats end up, he now live in Wakefield.

In addition to his background in the entertainment, he has a wealth of experience in business management, sales & marketing.

About the 100 Mile Arts Network: The 100 Mile Arts Network of Theatre Wakefield (TW) is a multi-year initiative involving three of the MRCs of Western Quebec: des Collines de l’Outaouais; le Pontiac; et la Vallée-de-la-Gatineau. Funded by Canadian Heritage, its three objectives are to:

Provide artists and artistic groups with touring support in western Québec and beyond;

Strengthen the arts presentation capacity in community groups of western Québec;

Build governance structures, partnerships and collaboration mechanisms that will assure stability, appropriate growth and eventual independence from TW.
