Synopsis:

Bertie is the pampered guest of the lively Lady Stella, accompanied as always by his peerless valet, Jeeves. If only Bertie’s pal Crumpet hadn’t assaulted a prince. In the blink of an eye, Bertie is masquerading as a romance novelist, Crumpet is posing as his own long-lost twin and a sinister foreign count is challenging Bertie to a duel. Will this madcap case of mistaken identities end in Bertie’s doom – or worse, his marriage? Have no fear; Jeeves will sort it all out.

Characters:

BERTRAM WILBERFORCE WOOSTER: A happy bachelor who is simply "rolling in the oof" (he's wealthy), and tenderly cared for by his peerless valet Jeeves. Bertie nonetheless has a remarkable talent for landing squarely in the soup.

JEEVES: Bertie's valet is, in Bertie's words, "A most amazing cove, so dashed competent in every respect." Nothing fazes the erudite and polished Jeeves. Unlike lesser mortals, he is never at a loss.

SIR PERCIVAL EVERARD CRUMPWORTH (“CRUMPET”): Bertie's pal, a love struck and poverty- stricken peer, two conditions that do not mix well. He may have committed murder - or not - the details are a bit dim, as is Crumpet.

LADY STELLA VANDERLEY: A mischievous heiress who delights in stirring up trouble, just for the fun of it. She adores toying with her many lovelorn suitors. Bertie is quite smitten with her, being as she is such a lively girl, but Jeeves has his doubts.

MISS MINERVA PILBEAM: Stella's companion, entrusted by Stella's strict father with the daunting task of looking out for his highspirited daughter. She is morally upright but with a romantic soul.

COUNT OTTO VON DIETRICHSTEIN: Equerry to His Serene Highness the Prince of Saxburg- Liegnitz. He and Minerva had a long-ago flirtation in Vienna. He is an avid duelist and fond of polishing his sword.

Notes on ages:Characters have no specified ages. However, due to the relationships between the characters (direct and implied), there are two age groups with Bertie, Crumpet and Stella being the younger trio (mid 20’s to mid 30’s), while Jeeves, Miss Pilbeam and the Count are of another generation – 50+. All character ages are stage ages, not the age of the actor.
