We’re starting by screening – free! – the beautiful film JANE, an Oscar™ nominated feature about the early life and work of Jane Goodall. Then we have a rich offering of top, fresh documentary films over the following four weekends. Extraordinary portraits of artists. Affecting stories of social justice issues, political corruption, the hypocrisy of the financial/political system. Two very different tales of climate change and effects already being felt on the land: one from a small holding African farmer with a family to feed; one from an exceptional, trailblazing winemaker in Burgundy – who was originally from Québec. And we’ve left lots of room for warmth and nostalgia. All are films chosen on individual merit, the beauty of the images, the depth of the storytelling. Remarkable examples all of the beauty of the documentary film. Altogether, they create a narrative of our lives, concerns and issues, now, in 2018. Come and be moved by these stories. Join us.
