A father passes. What is his Legacy? A family feuds. What comes of it? An angry and confused teen, forced to take a job in an unfamiliar place, gets a life lesson. A woman answers her own questions about mortality. What she learns has far-reaching implications.
Set in the present and not far from Anytown, Canada, our 2017 Fall production is a challenging, moving and inspiring story of family, jealousy, anger, lessons learned & reconciliation. “What’s Eating You?”, written by well-loved local playwright, John Hardie, and dramaturged by Peter James Haworth* through our successful New Works Project, opens November 24th, 2017 in the beautiful Gwen Shea Hall in Wakefield, QC.
The play is also directed by Mr. Haworth (known nationally for his contributions to Canadian Theatre) and features a stellar cast including both local favourites and new faces. Sets by David Park (Dreamwalker, Balconville, Red Hot Mamas). Lighting design by GCTC veteran, Larry Laxdal.
This year, Theatre Wakefield celebrates its 15th anniversary. From Community Theatre to Cultural Service Provider, we are proud of the excellence of our performances and the breadth of our achievements as we continue to work with cultural organizations and governments to provide educational and entertainment opportunities to our West Quebec region and beyond.
* The participation of Peter James Haworth is arranged by permission of Canadian Actors’ Equity Association under the provisions of the Dance Opera Theatre Policy.
