About us

Theatre Wakefield – real live entertainment since 2002!

Theatre Wakefield has developed arts and culture in the Lower Gatineau Valley since 2002. Focusing on community theatre and film, we produce main-stage performances, dramatic readings, heritage animation projects, and a variety of training workshops. Annual festivals and programs include: Summer Film Camp (since 2009), WIFF – Wakefield International Film Festival (since 2010), Ta Da! Festival (since 2013), and Piggyback Fringe Festival (2008-2012).

Our organization plays a key role in Wakefield’s lively culture of volunteerism, with a pool of some 150 volunteers who are the heart of Theatre Wakefield. Volunteers are involved in all aspects of operations and activities, from board management to Theatre Wakefield productions.
